
Yuliya Gaydayenko, MA, MSW
Role: Department Director, Older Adult Services
Yuliya is the Director of Older Adult Services at Jewish Family Service. Yuliya’s family came to the United States from Moscow, Russia and resettled in Flint, Michigan in 1995. She was recognized by both Angell Scholar and Maize & Blue Scholar awards by the University of Michigan. She earned her Masters in Linguistics and her Masters in Social Work from Michigan State University. Yuliya has worked in the community for the past 14 years, starting as an ESL tutor, Refugee Resettlement Coordinator and Day Camp Director at the Jewish Community Services in Flint, Michigan, where she then served as an Executive Director from 2003 to 2008.
Getting to Know Yuliya:
Yuliya is active in her community as a member of the SeniorsCount! Advisory Committee, Oakland County Senior Planning Social Services Committee, United Way of Southeastern Michigan Regional Senior Collaborative, and the Michigan Committee for Refugee Resettlement.
She currently resides with her husband, their 3 children and their dog, Ginger. Yuliya is fluent in Russian and loves to read and play piano.
