Aging at Home
Isn’t everyone happiest living in the comfort of their own home? We know this is especially important to seniors, too. That’s why one of our first goals is to consider how we can help older adults to age at home.
Whatever “home” is – a house, an apartment, a condominium, or an assisted living arrangement – maintaining independence and quality of life is a top priority. ElderCare Solutions of Michigan can help make that possible.
For older adults aging at home, safety is a key concern. We assess our clients’ living environments for safety, comfort, and ease of mobility. If the home is not equipped with safety features or is difficult to move within, ElderCare Solutions of Michigan can help make the necessary modifications. If aging at home requires outside supportive services, we can help you find those and make arrangements to bring them to you. Some of these supportive services might include transportation, medical supplies, or Meals-on-Wheels.
We come with the right suggestions and the best resources to make aging at home possible and a very positive experience. We will also stay involved, visiting the client regularly to ensure their continued safety at home as needs change over time.
This compassionate group has coordinated services for our mother and our family over the past six years, enabling our fiercely independent mother to remain in her home much longer than any of us imagined possible. They made friendly visits on a regular basis, took her to medical appointments, out for lunch, and on errands to the grocery store. They arranged services to help her maintain her home. They brought in home health care when it was needed and established an emergency plan with Mother’s nearby neighbors that gave the family, most of whom live out of town, a sense of security. All of these services were provided in a way that allowed our mother to maintain a sense of dignity, independence, and control over her life.
